What Is My IP Address
See the public IP address the internet uses to reach you. The tool fetches your IPv4 and, where available, your IPv6 address live from a public IP service and shows both with a copy button. This is the address websites and servers see — usually your router or provider, not your device directly. No tracking, no log kept.
Fetched live from a public IP service. We keep no log.
How it works
- 1
Open the page
Your public IP is fetched automatically when the page loads, so there is nothing to type.
- 2
Read your address
See your IPv4 and IPv6 address (if your connection has one) in the result panel.
- 3
Copy or refresh
Copy an address with one click, or press Refresh after a network change to fetch it again.
Instant & 100% private — nothing is uploaded
Everything runs locally in your browser. Your code, text and files are processed on your own device and are never sent to a server — so there are no upload waits, no size limits from us, and nothing is ever stored or logged.
Frequently asked questions
- Why is this not my computer address?
- Your device on a home or office network has a private address (like 192.168.x.x) that the wider internet never sees. Your router translates that to a single public address shared by everything behind it. This tool shows that public address, because it is the one external servers actually observe.
- Why do I have an IPv6 address too, or not?
- IPv6 is the newer, much larger address space, and many connections now have both an IPv4 and an IPv6 address. If your provider or network has not enabled IPv6, only the IPv4 line will show an address and the IPv6 line reads not detected. Both situations are normal.
- Does my IP change?
- Often, yes. Most home connections use a dynamic public IP that your provider can change, sometimes when the router restarts and sometimes on its own schedule. Business lines and servers more often have a static IP. Press Refresh to fetch the current value at any time.
- Is this tracked?
- The address is fetched live from a public IP service over a secure connection so the tool can read it back to you. We keep no log of it, and nothing about your visit is stored on our side.
